Andy Christie takes the skippers armband at Bridge Road, and the veteran will face one of his former clubs Eglinton as well as Coleraine in a three team group that will play each other three times to get fixtures.

He welcomes Damian Carlin, Craig Hartin and Chris Moore to the club, while going the other way are Jamie Millar and the Waterstone brothers.

Like most clubs, with the format for 2020 meaning the pressure is off with no relegation, sees the club putting the emphasis very much on youth.

"The club has worked hard developing youth over the past number of years and we are now starting to reap the benefits," said Christie.

"This years format provides an ideal opportunity to give them experience at the highest level.

"I've been impressed with the youth at training and it all bodes well for the future. There's a quartet of young players who'll be getting game time and there's a real buzz about the club. These young lads came through the age groups in our youth system and are set for the next challenge of senior cricket."

Ballyspallen kick off the new season with an away day trip to Coleraine on Friday (July 17) at 6.30pm.
