TCC are delighted with the continued progress of the club and to finish second in section 1 in 2019 was testament to the work that has been done at the club through the development of young players through their own coaching structures.
The club social media outputs during lockdown have been charting the history and progress of the club over the relatively young 50 years of the club’s existence and it has been a great journey from one that languished at the bottom of the old section 4 to recently, second from top in section 1.
Club ambitions are to continue development in the right way and ensure TCC are offering the best opportunities to all cricketers and supporting their development in order to find their way in the game and complement and enhance players who are already in the 1st XI squad.
2020 - will give another opportunity to do this and TCC will look to offer as much cricket as possible to all its members, young and old, in all of the 1st to 5th XI’s as well as the U15s, U13s, U11s A and B teams and have already got the procedures in place to do this.
Those who have been paying attention to the NCU website will have seen that TCC have only entered 3 senior teams for the restructured mini leagues that have been created for this very shortened season. TCC felt that this gives more flexibility to arrange their own games for the 4th and 5th XI’s at times that suit and at a suitable level to ensure games are competitive.
TCC intend to play in- house club games and arrange friendlies with other clubs looking to have a less formal arrangement or teams that fancy a few extra games and aim for both the 4th and 5th XI teams to be getting at least one game every weekend.
Even though it is a late start to the 2020 season, everything at the Cloughan is in place and facilities have even been improved in advance of some action.
