The local cricket season restart was dealt another blow after the announcement on Thursday by the NI Executive that no spectators would be allowed at games.
The season had been due to get under way on Friday July 17th, but the news that fans won't be permitted leaves a sour taste in the mouth.
The North West released the following statement:
"The NWCU are currently seeking further guidance and information from both Sport NI and the Department for Communities following the NI Executive announcement regarding the resumption of competitive sport without spectators.
"Today's news obviously requires the NI Return to Play protocols to be reviewed and we will be working on this with Cricket Ireland over the next few days to ensure the resumption of cricket in a way that supports clubs, players and spectators this summer.
"Further information will be communicated to clubs and stakeholders as soon as it is available."
