Ardmore Cricket Club have announced this morning that they have been awarded almost 10,000 by the National Lottery Community Fund towards internal improvements to their clubhouse and changing area.

The Bleachgreen club has a substantial Development Plan in place covering on and off the field facilities which they are intent on working their way through over the next few years.

This particular funding will be used for new flooring throughout the building, new fire doors, a new serving area and overall decoration.

Secretary, George Brolly (pictured below) said the club was delighted to be receiving the grant and added that it was another step in their long-term plans for the venue.

"We would like to thank the National Lottery Community Fund, and Tommy Carlin in particular for helping us access this generous support.

"We're fortunate to have a strong and active committe and we're developing the facilities here to the benefit of everyone, not just Ardmore or the NWCU. It's very much a community club and we intend to make the facility available to local groups as well.

"We're looking forward to getting the work started in the clubhouse and hopefully we'll get to see the benefits in the not-too-distant future."
