Instonians have signed South African Isma-eel Gafieldien as their overseas professional for the 2020 season.
The 23 year-old has been in prolific form at Boland, scoring two first-class and one List-A hundreds since the turn of the year.
He is an occasional bowler and according to his agency website appears a versatile cricketer, with his bowling styles listed a s leg-spin and medium pace.
He is also a qualified SA Level Two coach.
2019 wasn't a year to remember at senior level for the Shaw's Bridge side, but with a crop of talented youngsters a year older, then 'Galfie' could well be the player to reignite their fortunes.
While he has no overseas playing experience, he should be able to settle with plenty of South African personnel at the club including Nikolai Smith, Shane Getkate and Murray Commins.
Instonians have lost two important players over the close season with Irish international James Shannon hanging up the boots and Josh Manley (pictured above) opting to switch to Lisburn.
