The ongoing coronavirus outbreak has caused China to withdraw from the upcoming ACC Eastern Region T20I tournament in Thailand.

The tournament, set to run from 27th February to 7th March, is part of the qualifying pathway to the next Asia Cup tournament, with the finalists from each region playing in the main qualifier, from which one team would join the five Asian full members.

China were set to be in a group with Nepal, Malaysia and Thailand. Hong Kong are in the other group along with Singapore, Bhutan and Myanmar, but their participation is still, at the time of writing set to happen, though they recently cancelled a five match T20I series against Malaysia due to the outbreak.

Thailand are still set to be hosts too, despite golf authorities cancelling two events in Thailand this month due to the outbreak, including the women's World Championships which was to be played at the same time as the ACC tournament.
