Bready batsman Ross Dougherty looks destined to be the latest player making a switch to Championship side Newbuildings.
The 21 year-old had a decent 2019 season with Bready, hitting 385 runs at just under 30, while also keeping wicket in the absence of Andrew Austin who missed the bulk of the season through injury.
Dougherty will certainly prove a useful addition for a clearly ambitious Newbuildings, who have worked remarkably in building their FoyleView ground from scratch in such a short space of time.
They announced their new Indian overseas player earlier this week, and last month confirmed the capture of Brigade opener Gareth McKeegan.
They will now be considered one of the favourites to gain promotion to the Premiership for the first time.
In 2018 they came within one ball of shocking Eglinton in the semi-final of the Senior Cup, so on their day are a match for anyone.
It promises to be a fascinating season when it gets underway in three months time.
