Muckamore haved confirmed the signing of South African wicket-keeper batsman Peet Pienaar for the 2020 season.

The 20 year-old enjoyed a prolific breakthrough 2019 season with Ardmore in the NW Championship scoring 1404 runs at a super 82.59.

His mammoth haul included six centuries and three fifties, with a highest score of 257 in a Irish record stand of 378 against Sligo in the National Cup.

"I can't wait to play in Irish conditions once again," Pienaar told CricketEurope.

"I'm looking forward to the new challenge of the NCU and Muckamore.

"I had a great season last year in Ireland and really enjoyed the beautiful country as well as the people."

Muckamore will be hoping Pienaar can inspire them to an instant return to the Premiership after they were relegated in the last campaign.

The Moylena side begin their campaign with an away day trip to Donaghcloney Mill in Section One.
