Pakistan Test batsman Faisal Iqbal will be back in the North West this summer after Glendermott announced that they had signed the 38-year old as their overseas player for 2020.

Iqbal has previous form in the region having joined Strabane in 2012 however shortly after landing he was included in the Pakistan squad to travel to Sri Lanka- his first call up in two years.

With 26 Test appearances and 18 ODI's under his belt Faisal has always looked a batsman of genuine quality.

A nephew of the legendary Javed Miandad he has a Test century against India to his name but more recently he has been playing List A cricket with Pakistan International Airlines.

The Rectory club said in a statement:

"Glendermott have agreed terms for former Pakistan player Faisal Iqbal to become our overseas professional for 2020.

"The experience he brings both as a player and his coaching should benefit Glendermott CC going forward in what looks an exciting season ahead with all the  proposed changes within the NWCU."
