Denmark Head Coach Jeremy Bray has praised John Mooney for his exceptional work with his talented young charges ahead of their Malaysian trip.

The former Irish internationals linked up at the weekend and Bray was delighted at the impact Mooney had on the squad.

"We at the Danish Cricket Federation were absolutely delighted to have John Mooney come over and work with our National senior squad," said  Bray. "It's in preparation for our upcoming World Challenge League Group A tournament in Malaysia from March 14-25.

"Over the two days John worked on upskilling our players with their fielding competencies and also imparting his wealth of knowledge with our young seam attack.

"As Head Coach I am privileged to have someone of John's coaching abilities to help our players.

"After working with Afghanistan over the last few years and recently the West Indies, his knowledge of fielding technically, tactically and mentally is outstanding. The feedback from the players was super and I look forward to John's next visit in late February before we go away."

Bray also urged Cricket Ireland to take advantage of Mooney's expertise, saying he would would be a perfect fit for the Boys In Green as part of their backroom staff.

"I would love to see John working in Irish set-up in the near future as without doubt he would be a huge asset at all levels not just as a great coach but a fantastic person who wants to help players get better."

Alas for now, it seems very much a case of a prophet not being accepted in his home town.
