Champions CIYMS have recruited all-rounder Migael Pretorius as their overseas professional for the 2020 season.

The 24 year-old is the latest from the African continent to play for the Belmont side, following in the footsteps of Rassie van der Dussen, Matt McGillivray and Obus Pienaar.

He is a right arm fast-medium bowler who has taken 98 first-class wickets and averages 25 with the bat.

CIYMS broke the news on social media on their Twitter account.

"Migael Pretorius - we are delighted to announce Migael has agreed terms with us for 2020!

"An exciting young talent who comes highly recommend by two previous @ciymscricket stars @Rassie72 and @obus12,"

CIYMS enjoyed a fruitful 2019 campaign winning four trophies - winning the all-Ireland T20 trophy as well as the three domestic NCU trophies on offer.

Their hopes of a first all-Ireland final were ended by Waringstown in a thrilling semi-final and they will be hoping to go one better in 2020 with the help of Pretorius.
