Clontarf have signed South African all-rounder Marco Marais for the 2020 season.
The 26 year-old had previous experience of Irish conditions, having enjoyed two stellar seasons playing for Fox Lodge in the NW Championship.
He scored 2252 runs in his stint at the Ballymagorry club averaging nearly 75.
Marais also played in the UK with mixed results due to injury.
He holds the record for the fastest triple-hundred in first-class cricket, taking just 191 balls while playing for Border against Easter Province.
Clontarf didn't have the best of campaigns in 2019, failing to make the Premier League before the cut-off point although they did end the season on a relative high by clinching a very low-key Championship title.
They will be hoping Marais can bring better times to Castle Avenue in 2020.
