Instonians stalwart Steven Crothers’ excellent work for the Shaws Bridge club has been recognized by the Federation of Irish Sports.

The youth coach has been awarded one of their prestigious ‘Volunteers in Sport’ awards, which sees the club receive 250 Euros plus a special medal for Steven.

Instonians won two all-Ireland youth competitions in 2019 and much of that was down to the hard work and commitment of the Belfast man.

He helped set up winter cricket academy programmes at U11 and U13 levels, seen as a major factor in this success.

While Crothers was delighted to accept the award, he was quick to praise his fellow coaches at the club saying on Twitter.

“It’s nice to be recognized and thanks the FIS for that. Our coaching team at Instonians aim to deliver a great experience for the kids.”

Well done Steven and Instonians – continuing to set the benchmark in youth development.
