Irish Under 19 international Will Smale will be playing cricket in Australia during the close season as he joins Sydney Cricket Club.

The 18 year-old top order batsman and wicket-keeper will also be participating in the International Cricket Programme which proved very beneficial to Harry Tector last year.

Smale was one of the success stories in a disappointing U19 World Cup Qualifying campaign, scoring two half centuries in the tournament.

He went on to play for the NW Warriors in the Inter-Provincial tournament, taking five catches in his first-class debut, while scoring 48 on his List-A debut.

Smale has also confirmed his intention to play in the North West during the 2020 season.

There are bound to be no shortage of offers for the talented player.
