Obus Pienaar won't be back at CIYMS for the 2020 season after signing for Lancashire League side Lowerhouse CC.

The South African was an integral part of the all-conquering Belmont side who won four trophies, just missing out on the Irish Senior Cup to complete a clean sweep.

Pienaar scored 793 runs at an average of 53.50, which included two hundred and three fifties.

He also claimed 28 wickets at 21.50 with his left-arm spin.

The English club were obviously delighted to have acquired such a talented player as their MD Matthew Stansfield told their club website.

“Obus is a player we have come close to signing on two previous occasions and we are thrilled to finally have him with us. Obus is can be an explosive player with both bat and ball and his statistics in both first class cricket and UK league cricket speak for themselves. We look forward to finally seeing him take the field for Lowerhouse in April 2020."
