At the end of day two, Gloucestershire 2nd XI were 163-1, in reply to the Academy’s first innings of 289.

Both Neil Rock and Cormac McLoughlin-Gavin were out almost immediately afterwards and at 174-8, Academy were struggling.

However, Coleraine professional Hume added 79 for the ninth wicket with Mitchell Thompson and 36 for the last with Manley to give themselves something to defend.

But it has been a hard day field for the Academy players, with Matty Foster making the only breakthrough in 45 overs, before bad light ended play early.
