Jersey won the inter-insular 50 over match against Guernsey for the third successive year as they chased down a target of 177 at the KGV Playing Fields. This makes it ten wins in a row for Jersey over Guernsey in all formats of the game.
On a rain-interrupted day Guernsey won the toss and chose to bat first on a wicket described initially by Jersey captain Chuggy Perchard as "deteriorating" but which appeared to be easier to bat on in the second innings following rainfall in the interval.
Opener Max Stokes (74) was the main contributor to Guernsey's total of 194, which was probably less than par in the face of a tight Jersey attack in which Rhys Palmer and Dominic Blampied claimed seven wickets between them. Although Harrison Carlyon and Jonty Jenner fell cheaply as Jersey began their pursuit of a revised target of 177, half-centuries from Corey Bissona nd Nick Greenwood saw them home quite comfortably.
