IRELAND confirmed their place in the semi-finals of the Womenís T20 World Cup qualifying tournament yesterday with victory over Netherlands, but the hard work is only just beginning.

A half century partnership between the usual suspects, Kim Garth and skipper Laura Delany, rescued Ireland from a hesitant start when they slumped to 31-3 from seven overs, and it was Delany with two tight overs at the end which halted the Dutch charge to their victory target of 121, falling 19 runs short.

It was Irelandís second victory of the weekend, having started their qualifying campaign with a six wickets victory over Namibia, but Thailand have also won their first two games and the teams meet tomorrow in Dundee to decide who wins Group B and avoids Bangladesh in the semi-finals. Only the semi-final winners will qualify for the finals in Australia.
