All to play for in NW relegation dogfight
Ian Callender (Belfast Telegraph)
In the NW Premiership, with Brigade’s first title in eight years already confirmed, focus turns to the battle for the drop with any two of four teams still in danger of falling into the Championship.
The bottom side is automatically relegated, while the seventh place team must play-off against the runners-up in the Championship to preserve their top flight status.
Just 16 points separate the bottom four teams with Strabane in the must-win category. Unfortunately for the Red Caps, their last game tomorrow is against the champions, although the three teams directly above them will be hoping Brigade finish with a flourish rather than a whimper, with nothing to play for!
If Brigade lose for the only the second time then the losers of the big game of the day, at Bridge Park, between Ballyspallen and Glendermott are the team in immediate risk.
The best they can hope for is a close match – when the losers could pick up five points – and hope Coleraine lose at Eglinton.
The Bannsiders are currently in seventh place, two points behind Glendermott and three shy of Ballyspallen.
