THE line-up for next Sunday’s All-Ireland T20 finals day was finalised on Thursday night when Donemana beat Brigade in the North West final at Strabane Park.

Donemana will now meet CIYMS at Belmont in one semi-final with the other provincial winners, Malahide and Cork County, meeting at Stormont in the other one, ahead of the final at the international venue.

But the North West must take a long, hard look at the rules for their midweek action. There is no chance of completing a 20 overs match, starting at 6.30 in August and as a result, Brigade could face only half of their allocation when they batted second – in the gloom.

Maybe they should follow the NCU rules where August midweek games can start no later than 5.30pm. For the record, Brigade, who can no longer complete a trophy clean sweep, won the toss on Thursday night!
