Ballymena seconds are this year's Intermediate Cup winners after defeating the holders Donacloney Mill seconds in the Final at Laurelvale.

In what was a low scoring match experience won the day as a Ballymena side that included Neil Fullerton, Harry Cook and Jeffrey Martin triumphed by seven wickets at a sunny Laurelvale.

Winning the toss and deciding to bowl first was the obvious choice in a week that has been so wet and although the host club had done worked wonders to keep the pitch dry runs were hard to come by on a sluggish outfield.

No one in the Donacloney Mill side managed to get to twenty with Colin Hylands top scoring with 19 while Ballymena shared the wickets around Sam Henry taking 2-5, Ghazfanar Ali 2-11 and the evergreen Harry Cook 2-21.

'Cloney Mill's only hope was to take quick wickets and although Jonny Steenson trapped Calum Crease lbe with the score at 14 a forty run partnership between Michael Caithness (28) and Jeffrey Martin (31*) ensured that there would be no slip ups as Ballymena eased their was to a seven wicket victory.
