Donemana win Faughan Valley Cup

DONEMANA will meet CIYMS in the semi-final of the All-Ireland T20s on Sunday week after they won the North West final at Strabane Park in the dark last night.
But the Brigade innings was turned into a farce by the rules, which claimed a 20-over match could be started at 6.30pm in the middle of August and completed before nightfall.
A delayed start had reduced the game to 12 overs, with William McClintock putting Donemana firmly in control, scoring 59 from just 25 balls with three fours and six sixes in his side’s 106-4.
In the end, only 6.3 overs were possible and Brigade had to contend with the pace of Fahad Iqbal. It was a no contest. He took two wickets in his second over and when the umpires decided it was too dark to continue, Brigade were down and out at 29-6.
Scores: Donemana 106-4 (W McClintock 59 not out, A McBrine 27; A Britton 2-7) Brigade 29-6 (6.3 overs, D McGerrigle 3-18, F Iqbal 2-6). Donemana won by 34 runs (DLS).
The T20 Championship final, for the Eric Cooke Cup, will also be played at Strabane, between Ardmore and Fox Lodge with a noon start on Sunday.
