It was quite a day for the Cregagh branch of the McCormick family as they single handedly, well almost, saw off the challenge of the Holywood branch in a 9 for 40 blitz that saw the home side winners by 124 runs.

Cregagh had scored 209-7 which was adjusted to set visitors Holywood a stiff 231 for victory.

Ross Adair started in his usual forceful style before he became the first of Adam's victims falling to a Craig Irvine catch fifth ball of his first over and fifth of the innings.

A maiden to follow the wicket maiden then Aaron Paul lbw in his third and another maiden meant that his figures were: 4 overs, 3 maidens, 2 for 1!

A trio of 'bowled' was to follow as first Blakeston-Houston, Andy Haire and Tom Anderson were dismissed and with Adam Beattie holding a catch from Chris Hayes Adam finished his allotted eight overs with final figures of: 8 overs, 4 maidens, 6 wickets, 14 runs.

Remarkable also that half of those runs came in a single over with Andy Haire hitting a six and a single.

Then to rub salt into the wounds, up steps Dad David to polish thing off with 3-26.

But it was Adam's day as he claimed a NCU award for his 'six-fer' prompting David to Tweet "Very proud of this big lad today, 6-14 in a great win."
