Cliftonville Academy clinched the Lagan Valley Steels T20 Shield with an emphatic 82-runs win against Laurelvale.

Man of the Match Mark Shields top scored with 36 as they made 158 for 7, with good contributions from Rob Hall (32), Matthew Palmer (23) and Ben Kane (21).

Kane also took three wickets for just five runs as Laurelvale were dismissed for just 76.

Niall Greenlees (3-19) and overseas player Amesh Bhave were also among the wickets in an excellent all-round team display.

The T20 finals day scheduled for July 15th has been switched. The final of the Cup between Waringstown and CIYMS will now be played on July 26th, while the date of the Trophy decider is tbc. Downpatrick will play the winners of Cregagh/Woodvale.
