It was a day to remember for David Simpson as he led the Lisburn attack with a sensational return which included at one stage a spell of 5 wickets for 0 runs in 16 balls at Wallace Park.

Inst skipper Andrew White who contributed 19 to the Inst total of 61 could only watch from the non-strikers end as the bails flew - and fly they did for all five of Simpson's wickets were bowled, putting him twice on a hat trick.

The suggestion that there was a 'bit of movement' out there was of little comfort to the visitors when the first delivery of the Lisburn reply was dispatched out of the ground and the home side posted 20 off the first 3 overs.

Game over, and while the off-spin of White and Ben Rose, who each claimed a wicket, delayed the inevitable there was only going to be one winner today.

A 98 run partnership between Marc Ellison and André Malan was enough to break the back of the CSNI chase at The Lawn although the loss of wickets down the order meant that their 3 wicket win was less assured than seemed likely at one stage.

Waringstown had been rescued from the precarious 44-5 by Greg Thompson, who else, with 66 and Kyle McCallan with 32, the pair adding 83 before the rest of the innings fell away to a 174 total.

CIYMS continued their winning ways with an 8 wicket success at home to strugglers Muckamore passing the visitors total of 184 with 8 wickets in hand. Nigel Jones 76* and Obus Pienaar with 36* to add to his 6-29 in the Muckamore innings.

North Down maintained their rise up the table with a 7 wicket success at home to Carrickfergus.
Carrick could only manage 113 as Craig Young took 4-40 and Ruhan Pretorius 3-32. Ally Shields top scored in the chase with 34 as the men from Comber moved ahead of Waringstown to sit four points behind unbeaten CIYMS in the table.
