Strabane in trouble after Ballyspallen loss
Despite their efforts at Beechgrove on Saturday, Strabane have found themselves adrift at the foot of the Premier League table following defeat at home to Ballyspallen on Sunday.
The damage was done early for the Red Caps as Graham Kennedy (3-27) cut through their top order and although they fought back in the second half of their innings, it wasn't to be enough.
Chathura Peiris made 59 and Ryan Gallagher and Khushpal Singh added 37 apiece as the home side recovered from 46-5 to post a competitive 190 all out and at half way it looked like game on.
Strabane were soon among the visitors' order too and a couple of early wickets made things interesting before the Roe Valley men ripped the match away.
A 100-run 3rd wicket partnership between Adam McDaid (90) and Brendon Louw (45) was the difference between the teams in the end as 'Spallen gave themselves the advantage in the relegation scrap with a 6-wicket win.
In the Championship Ardmore kept themselves in the promotion hunt with an emphatic 197-run win over Newbuildings.
Jarred Wilson hit 9 fours and 7 sixes in his 105 from 65 balls, sharing a 5th wicket stand of 185 with skipper Peter Harrigan, who made 92 as Ardmore posted 316 for 5.
Newbuildings were dismissed for 119, with Lee Brolly taking five wickets and Caolan Young three.
