After their exit from the Challenge Cup on Saturday Waringstown surrendered their place at the top of the league to their Sunday conquerors CIYMS.

Bowled out for only 148 inside 40 overs the odds were always in the home sides favour and with Jacob Mulder (59*) and Obus Pienaar (30*) they were 7 wicket winners in just over 30 overs.

In a game that was eventually reduced to 39 overs CSNI managed 164/8 thanks to Marc Ellison (37) and Gary Wilson (28) while for Instonians it was two wickets each for James Magee (2-22), Andrew White (2-22), James Hunter (2-29) and Ben Rose (2-32).

The DLS par score for 39 overs was reset to 168 but Instonians came up short bowled out for 141 in the 35th over.

Murray Commins (29) with the top score and a late order 26 from Robert McKinley the only significant contributions.

For the visitors it was the pace of Matthew Foster (4-17) that did the damage with two wickets each for Graeme McCarter and Ben Adair.

Muckamore climbed off the bottom of the table with a hard fought, late-ending win over Carrickfergus.

CJ van Der Walt was Carrick's top scorer with 51 in a total of 174, which as often as not would be a winning score at Moylena. Professional Fahad Iqbal was the most successful bowler with 3-28 and there were two wicket each for Aditya Adey and Pavan Kartik.

In the chase David Miller weighed in with 46 and Iqbal added 31.

Wickets for Snyman (3-19), Matty McCord (2-22) and Alex Haggan (2-37) were not enough as Steve Lazars (28*) and Shane Henderson (18) edged the home side closer leaving captain Neil Gill to hit the winning boundary with 8 balls to spare.
