Two of the three scheduled T20's managed to beat the weather with the Dragons staying top of the table after a 15-run win against the Typhoons, who also lost the morning match against the Scorchers.

The first game saw the Typhoons post 141 for 6, with Una Raymond-Hoey (37) and Orla Prendergast (31) sharing a third wicket stand of 55 after Amy Kenealy (2-14) had made early inroads.

Sophie MacMahon also bowled well to claim 3 for 22.

Rebecca Stokell and Gaby Lewis (21) started the chase in confident fashion, sharing an opening stand of 52. Stokell hit 5 fours and a six in her 56 from 45 balls, breaking the back of the chase.

Shauna Kavanagh (27) and Caoimhe McCann (21) added 49 for the third wicket before both were dismissed with the finishing line in sight.

Despite the late wobble, Tess Maritz held her nerve to hit the winning runs from the penultimate ball.

In the second game, YMCA overseas professional Kerrie Tomlinson's unbeaten 67 from 55 balls (8 fours, 1 six) set up a Dragons total of 153 for 4.

She shared an opening stand of 46 with Mary Waldron (17) and 53 for the second wicket with Merrion's Rachel Delany, who hit a 21-ball 30 (4 fours).

The Typhoons reply slumped to 56 for 6, before Cassie Stephens (38*) and Niamh Small (30) added 70 for the 7th wicket, as they finished 15 runs adrift on 138 for 8.

The third and final game between the Scorchers and the Dragons was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
