BRA triumphed over their city rivals Belfast Inst. in a low scoring encounter at Osborne Park winning the semi-final encounter by six wickets.

Olly Metcalfe had scored a century last week in the first meeting of the sides but rain put paid to that match and a repeat performance from him would surely have seen his side victorious.

In the event however he was bowled for only 23 by Luca Johnston and the home side laboured to 96 all out in batting conditions that were far from easy.

Bradley McNamara top scored for Inst with 28, the wickets being shared around the BRA attack with two each for Max Burton, Robbie Moffett, Luca Johnston and Robbie Linden.

BRA openers Harry Warke and Max Burton added 59 in only eight overs, Burton scoring 40 off only 23 balls and taking 20 off a Ewan Scott over.

BRA were racing home and a ten wicket win was a distinct possibility but that all changed with the departure of Burton who edged a lazy drive back onto his stumps.

At a stroke the runs seemed much harder to come by and when Warke was caught behind albeit after a lengthy conference by the umpires as to whether the ball had carried to the keeper the game was back in the balance.

In the end BRA got over the line with a couple of overs to spare but the Inst staff and players will look back and see that Extras 21 was BRA's second top scorer.

The Final is scheduled for Friday 21st June at Muckamore CC with the start time still to be confirmed due to exam commitments but likely to be mid afternoon.

CricketEurope will be providing full coverage of the final including ball-by-ball commentary.
