Ulster Schools lost their annual game against MCC at Osborne Park yesterday by 51 runs but it was two of last year’s Schools’ side who were the Club's stars.

Instonians’ James Metcalfe was left 99 not out when his final partner was run out going for a third run to bring up his century while CSN’s Matthew Foster took five wickets as the Ulster Schools, after a disappointing batting performance, were bowled out with five overs remaining.

Their top scorers were Daniel Humphreys and Adam Reid who today will be playing for Methodist College in the Schools Cup semi-final against BRA, back at Osborne Park today (11.30am).

The remaining two games for the MCC this week, against the Emerging Knights, though, are off. Carrickfergus was due to host the double-header today and tomorrow but Middle Road is unplayable and the Knights were unable to find another ground
