Ireland Wolves' first T20 match against Scotland A fell victim to the weather on a day when heavy showers were never too far away.

It's the Scots who will feel more aggrieved as Craig Wallace's hard-hit half century had propelled them to 153 for 9, and then two wickets for Gavin Main had Ireland struggling at 19 for 2 when the game was called off.

Wallace cleared the ropes four times and hit 4 fours in his 72 from just 48 balls, showing the power that has made him a regular starter in white-ball cricket for the senior side.

George Munsey hit 2 sixes and 2 fours to get Scotland off to a fast start but Peter Chase struck with his first ball as the Irish fought back.

Shane Getkate (2-10) and Craig Young (3-32) were also in the wickets, but the innings honours belonged to Wallace.

Ollie Metcalfe (pictured) made his debut in a Wolves shirt, but he was one of Main's victims along with Jack Tector before play was halted at 19 for 2 in the fourth over.

The teams play again on Monday and Tuesday in the last two T20 contests of the series. Scotland prevailed in the 50-over series on Friday, winning 2-1.
