Former Irish international Nigel Jones has been appointed Leinster Lightning Head Coach and will take over the role from Albert van der Merwe during the T20 Festival at Pembroke later this month.
The 37 year-old played 34 times for Ireland between 2009 and 2012, being a member of the 2011 World Cup squad, as well as playing in the 2010 and 2012 T20 World Cups in the West Indies and Sri Lanka.
The current CIYMS captain held roles with Cricket Ireland, coaching various youth sides before being made redundant as part of a restructuring move late last year.
As well as responsibility for Leinster Lightning, he will look after their Bolts and underage representative teams too.
Lightning have dominated the interpro series since its reintroduction back in 2013, claiming 15 of the 18 trophies on offer under coaches Trent Johnston, Ted Williamson and Albert van der Merwe.
