HARRY Warke, son of former Ireland captain Stephen, will skipper one of the teams at the Schools Trial on Friday, with RBAI and Instonians opening batsman Oliver Metcalfe leading the other side.

Methodist College have the most representatives, with five players in Metcalfe's team while he has three of his school team-mates in a city-based side made up of two from Campbell College and one from Grosvenor Grammar.

Warke is one of the three Belfast Royal Academy pupils and they are joined by three from Limavady Grammar - the only North West side represented - plus two each from Ballyclare High, Bangor Grammar and Friends School.

THE Ulster Plate competition - for 2nd XIs in the NCU and North West - gets under way on Sunday with holders Donemana II, still featuring Junior McBrine, starting their defence at home to Instonians II.
