The North West have named the Emerging Warriors squad that will play their NCU counterparts in two One-Day games at Muckamore on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

Aaron Gillespie will captain the side for both matches and the Strabane all-rounder will have a sprinkling of players with senior Warriors experience around him.

Adam McDaid, Kyle Magee, Rhys Logue, Varun Chopra, Tommy Orr and Connor Olphert are all plying their trade at Premier Division level domestically; so while it is obviously a youthful squad, there's a fair degree of experience as well.

Ben Mills and Trent McKeegan are included in both squads while there are three changes to Wednesday's panel with St Johnston's Michael Rankin, Strabane's Conor Graham and Gregory McFaul of Bready replacing Fox Lodge pair Alistair Doherty and Aidan Logue as well as William Finlay (Killyclooney).

Warriors Head Coach Ian McGregor said that he was looking forward to seeing how the squad coped with this challenge, and paid tribute to the work that has been going on at under-17 level of late.

"It's an opportunity for this group of players to test themselves collectively at a really good level. Kevin (Martin) and the coaching team have done a fantastic job to date and with the under-17 Interpros coming up, this will give them a good idea of where they're at."

"One thing I would add is that this squad is in no way exhaustive. There will be plenty of opportunity for players to force their way in, including the return series against the Emerging Knights at Ardmore in July."

"Players who do well with their clubs will of course be considered for future opportunities."
