Jacques Snyman hit 9 sixes in an unbeaten century as Carrick powered to a comfortable win against Lisburn. Ruhan Pretorius was also in the runs as North Down beat Muckamore in the latest group games of the Lagan Valley Steels T20 competition.

Snyman made his second century of the season in a quite brilliant 107 not out from 55 balls, which also included 5 fours.

The South African dominated a third wicket stand of 97 with Jamie Holmes (18) as the hosts chased down their 153 target with ease to coast to victory with 19 balls to spare.

Earlier Faiz Fazal had top scored with a rapid 53 from just 19 balls (5 fours, 5 sixes) as he and Jonathan Waite (39) put on 90 for the second wicket.

Adam Berry added 23 but the innings faltered with CJ van der Walt claiming three wickets and Alex Haggan two.

North Down won the other match at a canter after a powerful batting display saw the top six all reaching double figures as they posted 194 for 5.

Ruhan Pretorius top scored with 61 (7 fours, 2 sixes) adding 82 with AJ Moore, who also cleared the ropes twice in his 42.

Ryan Haire made a hard-hit 31 to add to an already challenging score for the visitors to chase.

Haire was also in the wickets, claiming three scalps as Muckamore finished a distant 70 runs adrift - not able to hit a single maximum and only five boundaries.
