Preview 4th Round Premier Division May 19th

Cork County host Co Kerry on Sunday and will look to continue their unbeaten run. Their batting hasn’t been tested thus far, excepting a below-par total against Limerick last weekend.

Their bowlers, particularly Jose George, have been excellent with a highest score conceded of just 171.

Kerry will be hoping to carry on their good form, beating Galway comfortably last weekend. Awais Saighir is the man to watch for Kerry as his good form with the bat continues and of course the evergreen Yak twirls away.

Cork Harlequins host winless Galway and will be hoping to maintain their current vein of good form. Galway have a number of experienced players, however, with the likes of skipper Umair Maqsood and Conor Mullen no doubt keen to turn around what has been a poor start to the season.

For Quins, young guns Seanan Jones and Kieran O’Reilly have been central to their excellent start and it will be a case of “more of the same please” from the home team.

The third fixture is the first between the two Limerick sides, who, just to complicate matters, will play their fixture in Galway. Limerick City played two and lost two so far, while Limerick CC have won just one of their first three.

With the league now into the fourth weekend, it’s the perfect opportunity for the sides to get their season running properly.

For Limerick City, Murtaza has begun where he left off last season, while for Limerick CC, Arslan Anwar and Shani Alam are good enough on their day to take on any bowling attack.

No doubt it will be a hard fought encounter, with much at stake for both sides if they want to challenge seriously for the league.
