Railway Union have been dealt a major blow with the news that their deal for overseas player Sami Aslam has fallen through.

The 23 year-old has played 13 Test matches and four One-Day Internationals for Pakistan, and had also ten first-class hundreds.

Aslam rose to prominence as part of the Pakistan U19 team at successive World Cups, skippering his side en route to the final in 2014.

The highlight of his career to date were scores of 82 and 70 in the 2016 Edgbaston Test helping Pakistan draw the series.

The Park Avenue side have yet to announce who - if anyone - will take his place as their professional for the current campaign.
