All-rounder Steve Lazars has joined Muckamore after spending the 2018 season at Ardmore.

The 36 year-old interpro player has previously played with Ballymena and Lisburn in the NCU and has scored over 2000 runs and taken more than 100 wickets in his career in the region.

He will be joining Bobby Rao who the Moylena side appointed last year.

Skipper Neil Gill was delighted to have acquired a player of Lazars ability.

"Steve is obviously a classy player who has NCU Premier league experience.

"With Marcus O’Riordan being called back by Kent and doing 12th man against Pakistan we were left short.

"Our professional also doesn’t arrive until next week so we had heard Steve was available and it's great to have him on board."

Lazars debut will have to wait a week later as the entire league programme in the NCU was wiped out on Saturday.
