The Bee Gees have been busy in the weeks leading up to the start of the summer with several new faces set to appear at the Glen this season.

Derek Curry continues as skipper and 'Ernie' Roberts is back for a second spell at the club having fared reasonably well in his first season in the North West.

There are one or two surprises, most notably Matty Barr coming in from Burndennett and Simon Killen from Glendermott; albeit the latter will have restricted availability for much of the summer due to work commitments.

Donemana pair Mark Simpson and Andrew Buchanan are also added to the panel.

Former skipper Johnny Haslett said that a lot of work has gone on at the club over the winter in preparation for the upcoming season.

"We have brought in Barry Scott to help with the youth development as the club boasts teams competing at u-11, u- 13, and u-15 level. We also have several quality youngsters playing in the first team- most notably Raymond Curry and Ben Nixon who are both involved in the young Warriors set up.

"Barry will work with the first team squad as well because we want to be competitive in the Championship as well as at underage level.

"The club have done a lot of work at the ground as well including new nets and a practice strip for which we received help from the NWCU. As always we are indebted to a very hard-working committee at the Glen for their help in pre-season.

"We are looking forward to the summer aheadand feel that we are capable of a competitive showing in 2019."

Whatever happens at Bonds Glen this season it is fantastic to see that the structure of the club cintinues to grow stronger. They are a real example of what can be done with the right help and committment.
