It's probably fair to say that any season that ends in relegation won't be top of the highlights reel, however one thing about the Foxies is that they never dwell on these things for too long.
The Ballymagorry side know what its like to experience both sides of the end-of-season rush and they, along with Ardmore will now be fancied to bounce straight back up.
There are a couple of changes to note- Aaron Heywood taking over the captaincy while Coenie Nel replaces Cebo Tshiki as overseas professional.
Nel, a 22-year old South African is a batting all-rounder who spent last season playing club cricket in Glasgow.
Aaron is a solid shout as captain; despite the youthfulness he has clearly benefitted from involvement with the North West Warriors over the past couple of seasons.
Speaking ahead of the start of the season he had no doubt about the targets for 2019.
"Ideally we will be looking to regroup and bounce back after a disappointing end to last year.
"Enjoying our cricket will continue to be a driving factor for us and if we can hit the ground running that can be the platform for us.
"It would be great if the young guys around the club keep knocking on the door of the first team and take their chance when the opportunity arises.
"We will need to be on top of our game in what looks to be a very competitive league this year again and of course we would love a run in the cups as well."
The season has obviously a different look to it this time in a division where Fox Lodge have always been very competitive. We should expect nothing less this summer.
