Scotland A have beaten an England Development XI by 66 runs in the first match of their short tour of England.

It was a very strong A side, featuring many first-team regulars, and they batted well to post 310 for 7.

Matt Cross skippered the side, and he and Michael Leask both scored 28.

The innings was built around three half centuries, with Craig Wallace top scoring with 75, Dylan Budge hitting 63 and Tom Sole 53.

The English teenagers made a fist of it, with Lancashire player George Balderson hitting 117 in an opening stand of 103.

Ali Evans took four wickets, while there where two apiece for Safyaan Sharif and Hamza Tahir.
