Carlton have signed Knights Franchise All-Rounder Corne Dry for their 2019 Eastern Premier Division campaign.

Corne Dry (26) is an established South African first-class all-rounder playing for Free State and the Knights Franchise. Dry, who attended the prestigious Grey College and represented South Africa Under-19s, boasts an enviable domestic record.

In his career dating back to his first-class debut in February 2012, Dry has played 138 matches, taken 284 wickets and scored 1,882 runs. He has taken 11 five wicket hauls, scored 8 fifties and 1 century (142).

He has become a consistent performer at Franchise level and, in August 2014, earned selection to play for South Africa A against the touring Australian A side.

His success at domestic level has come as no surprise, given his exploits for South Africa at Under-19 level. He played 12 Youth ODI’s for South Africa, alongside the likes of Quinton de Kock, Theunis de Bruyn and England’s Keaton Jennings, to include the 2012 World Cup.

He has since excelled for both Free State and the Knights and continues to pursue higher honours.

The talented pace bowling all-rounder is set to embark on his third stint abroad in 2019 having recently signed with Scottish club Carlton for their Eastern Premier Division campaign following successful stints in England (Brixham – Devon League in 2016) and Holland (Dosti – Topklasse in 2017). Dry will be definitely one to watch throughout the Scottish summer.
