The Northern Knights have named a strong squad ahead of their opening games in the 50-over interprovincial cup later this month in Spain.

New captain Gary Wilson is one of eight senior internationals named in the 13-man squad for their matches against the North West Warriors on Wednesday April 24th, and defending champions Leinster Lightning the following day.

Former Ireland Under 19 captain Harry Tector has been named as vice-captain, while the current Ireland U19 skipper Neil Rock will once again don the gloves.

Wilson's CSNI team mates Marc Ellison and Graeme McCarter are included, while there are also three representatives from CIYMS - Mark Adair, James Cameron-Dow and Jacob Mulder.

The Instonians pair of Shane Getkate and Robert McKinley are named, as well as former Shaw's Bridge batsman James Shannon.

The Waringstown duo of James McCollum and Greg Thompson complete the squad, but their Lawn team-mates Adam Dennison and Gary Kidd were unavailable.

North Down's Alistair Shields, was also unavailable, as well as new signing David Delany, with the Clontarf speedster having exams.

The Knights won the inaugural 50-over competition in 2013, but since then it's been a case of Lightning domination, with the Dubliners having won the five editions since then.
