Clontarf have been one of the most consistent teams in the province, never being too far away when the trophies are being handed out.

They have been boosted by the return of their Irish Cup winning skipper Eoghan Delany from Australia, and have also added Isobel Joyce as coach.

Former professional Mick Granger is now settled and about to get married, and he will boost the Castle Road firepower.

Also coming from Australia are Kevin Prior and Mac Wright and that will add considerable quality and depth to an already strong squad.

"There are a few changes in personnel this season but the ever-present core of the squad remains," Delany told CricketEurope.

"The big addition is that of Isobel Joyce as coach. Isobel brings 20 years of international experience to the role and every player, oldest to youngest, will benefit from that during the season.

"The last two seasons have seen the team fall short of capturing a league title in contrasting fashions. Silently, setting that straight would be at the forefront of most playersí minds.

"However, our record across all competitions for the last six or seven years has been excellent, testament to the fact that the squad pulls no punches on any day and Iím sure 2019 will prove no different."

Clontarf could well be the team to beat with that experienced core coupled with their new faces.
