Salland have re-signed their West Indian star Dalton Polius for their 2019 Hoofdklasse campaign.

Polius (28) is a talented all-rounder from St Lucia, who represented the West Indies Under-19s (2009) boasts 26 domestic matches for the Windward Islands (2011-16).

A free-flowing left-handed batsman and right-arm off-spinner, Polius scored 565 runs at 18.83 and took 17 wickets at 34.70 in 17 first-class games for Windward Islands, with his last match coming against Guyana in February 2016.

Unfortunately, Polius hasnít featured for the Windward Islands since February 2017, but he continues to excel at Premier level, in a view to earning back his spot.

Polius has also impressed abroad during previous stints in England and Holland. In his opening stint (2016), he set the league alight, dominating the run charts, en-route to a record-breaking season in Division 1.

He broke the record for the most runs in a season, previously set by former Sri Lankan professional Upul Fernando in 2005 (1,185). Polius smashed 6 centuries amongst 1,360 runs at 85 then took 37 wickets at 14.49 for good measure.

Whilst he didnít replicate these dizzy heights the following season, he still managed 418 runs at 27.87 and 33 wickets at 16.30.

The level two coach has recently signed to return to Salland in 2019, following his successful stint in the Hoofdklasse last summer (325 runs at 54.17). He will no doubt be out to impress, once again, in a view to breaking back into professional cricket in future.
