Leinster based players have dominated the squads announced by Ireland yesterday for the Academy tour of England and the Women's Super 3 interpro series.

There are no fewer than 10 of the 14 named in the Academy squad from the region, with skipper Neil Rock one of three Rush players - Stephen Doheny and Jarred Barnes the other two.

Cousins Gareth and David Delany from Leinster and Clontarf are included, while the Merrion duo of Tyrone Kane and Max Neville have also been named.

YMCA's Jack Tector is Rock's deputy, and he's joined by Claremont Road new signing Fionn Hand, and Pembroke leg-spinner Fiachra Tucker completes the Leinster representation.

The Super 3 selectors have named 54 players, with a whopping 44 of them from Leinster, reflecting the dominance of the region in the women's game.

There are eight different clubs represented, with league champions Leinster and Pembroke leading the way with eight apiece.

Merrion have seven on the squads, YMCA six, while Clontarf and Malahide have five each. The Hills (3) and Phoenix (2) complete the set.

Of the other ten players selected, five come from the NCU, two from the NW, two are overseas, while Erica Turner is a Northants based player who has played for the English county for the past two seasons.
