Railway Union have secured the services of Pakistan international Sami Aslam as their overseas professional for the 2019 season.
The 23 year-old has played 13 Test matches and four One-Day Internationals for Pakistan, and had also ten first-class hundreds.
“I’m excited to be taking an opportunity to join Railway Union for the 2019 season," Aslam told CricketEurope.
"This will be my first club engagement and having heard great things about the Leinster league standard and new competition structure, I cannot wait to get involved.”
Railway Union captain Ciaran Diviney welcomed the talented batsman to Park Avenue.
“I’m delighted to welcome Sami into our cricket family. I hope he will have a great time in Sandymount, score loads of runs, and help us win matches.
"We have some very promising young cricketers in the club who are buzzing at the prospect of playing and working with a player of his calibre. Bring it on!”
Aslam rose to prominence as part of the Pakistan U19 team at successive World Cups, skippering his side en route to the final in 2014.
The highlight of his career to date were scores of 82 and 70 in the 2016 Edgbaston Test helping Pakistan draw the series.
Railway Union Cricket Club paid tribute to Haroon Khan and 24Doc for helping bring Sami to Park Avenue saying "Their generous support will help raise standards of our players, increase participation, and promote the game of cricket across Leinster."
