Over the weekend Ulster University's Jordanstown campus played host to the Irish Universities Cricket Association Indoor Tournament.

With group matches on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning the tournament reached a climax on Sunday afternoon when the semi-finals and Final were played.

In a nail biting finish Dublin Business School chased down the 134 of new boys Technological University of Dublin to get home with two balls to spare.

With every run cheered to the echo by both sets of supporters it was no surprise to see the ‘pitch invasion’ by the victors bench as the winning runs were scored.

In presenting the trophy to the winning side Universities Cricket President Philip Carson thanked UU for staging the event and especially Calum Atkinson for his organisational skills.

Noting that in his opinion we had just seen the best final of the competition to date and congratulated all sides for their commitment to Universities cricket hoping that the tournament will expand and that other sides will also compete in the Outdoor Championships later in the season.
