North County have confirmed the signing of Yassar Cook as their overseas professional for the 2019 campaign.
Cook is a top-order right hander who also bowls occasional medium pace, and has played 52 first-class matches for Gauteng and North West in his native South Africa.
He averages just under 30, having scored three centuries and 13 fifties.
He has overseas experience, playing for Purton CC in the UK, where he scored 1497 runs at 78.79 in all formats.
He replaces Malcolm Nofal at Balrothery, and will do well to emulate his countryman who scored 816 runs at 48, and also picked up 35 wickets.
County stalwart Eddie Richardson welcomed the new arrival to North Dublin saying:
"Yassar had a brilliant season in England last year and hopefully he can bring the same form to North County.
"He comes with a great reputation and should do well here. We wish him all the best for the season ahead."
