Instonians made it an all-Ireland youth cup double as they beat YMCA by 27 runs in a hard-fought battle at Balbriggan.

Rory Ellerby was the star of the show as he struck 7 fours and a six in a top score of 60 to lead the Shaw's Bridge side to 129 for 6 in their 20 overs.

He shared a third wicket stand of 57 with Tom Crothers, who made 23.

This was despite the best efforts of Srividya Yeremsetti, who bowled superbly to claim 3 for 9 in his four-over spell.

Yeremsetti (22*) together with Jack Flannigan (31) took YMCA to a strong position in the run chase at 75 for 3, but the NCU prevailed as they held their nerve in the closing overs.

Michael Hollway (3-10) and George Palmer (2-16) were the pick of the attack.

The All-Ireland youth competitions draw to a close this coming Sunday when Eglinton will host Rush in the Under 15 final.
